“develop past spring”

artist statement
we are actually a music duo, currently busy writing songs and making our first album. but it’s such a great joy to transfer musical ideas over to visual representations. in the collage piece, i took inspiration from one of our lyrics, “will or won’t you develop past spring”. the turning from winter promises new excitement, adventure and possibilities for new relationships. whenever spring rolls around, i always get a new film roll ready to capture the fresh season and its happiness. whatever gets captured in that moment, i won’t think about again until much later when it needs to be developed. this collage is meant to emphasize the feeling of having someone in your life during these flashes of fun times, while hoping that they stay in your life when these times are over. my final touch was the sweet pea flower - a flower that grows more the more you pick at it.
